paris by night

In the end it seems like the majority of my photos are from night time.  We got in late afternoon on the Friday and then we were slow moving in the mornings.  Hey it was vacation.  Paris in 4 days is impossible to do it all anyway, so we just played it by ear.

From Sacre Coeur

Not having a 'plan' in Paris was as good as it was bad.  It was nice just to relax and stroll but I could have done with some set in stone plans to either get us out of the apartment earlier or to ensure a good meal.  However, Paris at night doesn't get much more romantic! :D

We started in Montmartre on Friday where we stayed.  We arrived at the Sacre Coeur base and took the stairs up.

I was thrilled, obviously ;)

we made it!from the topwandering around MontmartreYou'll recognize this one.  We didn't go in, but I think at some point I'd like to go see a cabaret in Paris.  Not necessarily the Moulin Rouge but it could be cool to see in person just once.

The next day we did some shopping and the rain struck late afternoon.  We rocked up to The Louvre at 4:30 and it was closing at 5:30 so we decided we shouldn't waste the money to go in in for only an hour.  Again, the planning could have helped there.

The Louvre

I am not sure if this ferris wheel is a permanent structure in Paris but after a looong coffee break we wandered above ground and found that the rain stopped.  We went up in the ferris wheel which was awesome, just not so great for photos as we were encaged in rain drop covered cabins (word?).

Arc de Triomphe

All in all pretty pleased with a few good shots.  As my grandpa correctly out, that is what the delete button is for but be careful not to delete the ugly duckling :)

You did it!!! This bunch is marvelous. I specially like the one of C on the bridge and the Louvre. I remember that stairway coming down from MMarte. We took the escalator (or whatever they call it) down.
