lenting

As most of you know, I'm really not all that religious.  While my Irish Catholic "mom-mom" is rolling in her grave to hear it, it just is what it is.  However, that never usually stops me from contemplating and sometimes attempting this thing called Lent.

This year I'm attempting to give up something that has become an unruly addiction since moving to Denmark.  Butter.  Whoa do Danes know butter.  Self control - have I not.  So, when Christian's dad was doing dairy deliveries and putting an endless of supply of delicious butter in our fridge (and freezer - talking STACKS of this stuff) it was pretty much impossible for me to avoid.

I never used to buy real butter - maybe some chemical spray stuff (not any healthier in all fairness) that amounted to 10 calories for 4 sprays if needed but when I just had endless supplies of the real stuff... couldn't resist.  So it's time to say goodbye for a little bit.  My heart and cholesterol will thank me I'm sure.

In honor of my passion for sarcasm I'd love to share my top three someecards for Lent.  God bless this little website - it's a haven for someone like me.  Below are my favorites in descending order... You can click on the image to go to the site and send it to your favorite black humor friend today! ;)

#3 - Perhaps I mean people in general really...

(Image from someecards.com)#2 - Yes again about self-control... maybe I should ask for self-control for christmas in order to be able to excercise it for new years resolutions and lent...

(Image from someecards.com)#1 - Really feel myself throwing my hands up in the air and saying "f**k it" these days...

(Image from someecards.com)I suppose you might be able to tell that these are half sarcasm half true.  I am really ready for winter to be over and perhaps some spring mentality! ;)

What are you giving up for Lent (aka a few days... maybe a week)?
