fall fun

Busy weekend at the Als house. Friday night turned into a shopping extravaganza at Ikea as the designer in me has sprung to inspiration for the living room, finally.  Still have a few pieces to get and touches but when it’s done – I will be proud anyway.  Christian is a little sour that I am putting all of his old furniture in storage. ;)

Saturday I went to school while Christian assembled our new tv stand.  Came home for some quick cleaning and we were out the door to the ‘Gamle Elevers Fest’ – ‘Old Students Party’ directly translated.  It’s an annual reunion for any alumni of Helsingør Gymnasium (the high school where Christian and I met).  Here's a pic of the boys at dinner...

It was tons of fun; I danced my friggen butt off.  Paid for it on Sunday and am still in a small amount of neck pain.  Miss Steph Walsh probably doesn’t have to guess where the neck pain came from, she knows my dance moves. Erhmm anyway.

Sunday we had our friend Sillas over all day to hang out.  We all slept til what should have been 1pm but with day lights savings was ‘only’ 12pm.  I haven’t done that in ages, seriously.  We made food all day, including pumpkin pie – finally!

Now this pumpkin pie is good but not the real deal, not sure what is missing.  I think it might be the kind of pumpkin.  Here the only non jack-o-lantern pumpkins are these hokaido pumpkins – never really heard of them in the States.

Some fun pics from making our jack-o-lantern this year :)

Anyway will try again on the pumpkin pie for THANKSGIVING!  Can’t wait – good friends of ours have offered to host, and well one of them is a chef and is excited about cooking a thanksgiving meal, woohoo!

Loved all the Halloween pictures from the States that I’ve seen on FB, can’t wait to see my friends and family in just under two months!!! :D

ga-ga Oh-la-la

As you already know I am ridiculously overdue on my Lady Gaga post. I did write a fab post then in true Chrome fashion I got an 'Aw Snap' aka Internet Explorer Cannot Display this Page bullcrap. Didn't have it in me to repost until now. So frustrating.

But Gaga... amazing! She is such an amazing performer. Over the top fantastic. She is worth every penny of a sold out Wang Center. A different outfit and routine for every song with no lip syncing. The real deal.

She opened with new song “Dance in the Dark” (omg love this song) and then moved into Just Dance (my anthem), and I was ‘so happy I could die’. ;)

She played all of my favorites:

  • Dance in the Dark
  • Just Dance

[Order gets blurry here]

  • Monster
  • Alejandro
  • Fashion
  • The Fame
  • Love Game
  • Speechless (on Piano)
  • Money Honey
  • Beautiful Dirty Rich
  • Poker Face
  • Paparazzi

[Encore]

  • Eh, eh
  • Bad Romance

We took some ridiculous pictures I am reluctantly showing to you all, haha.  At one point at the restaurant before we went to the show a girl came up and took my picture to send to her husband?? It’s fine.  Papa-Papa-Paparazzi.

Hands down so amazing. After the show I was ready to kill someone for water.  I finally get to the register at Walgreens with water and Gatorade in hand and went to say thank you and nothing came out, no more voice.  The next day I had this raspy scratchy voice and my vocal chords were definitely mad at me J  All totally worth it.

Here’s video from my camera’s recording of the beginning of her Poker Face performance… Lady Gaga fist pumps. I’m in love.

<3 Lady Gaga and all her and my little monsters!

so happy I could die...

Tonight is the night!  Lady Gaga concert with little monsters Gail & Sarah among others. OW OWWW!  He's my look for tonight:

I'm sitting here at work wondering if anyone would notice if I drew my lightning bolt on my face a little prematurely.  It is, after all, the 2nd best day of December. :D

To all other little monsters... you'll be in my heart as I'm dancing my Gaga off.  I will try to give you some shot outs during my routine on stage but... Lady G and I have a Bad Romance so she might get a little jealous. :P

zuuuumbaaaaa

You may or may not be familiar with this latest (?) and greatest cardio sensation but either way picture me, Sarah and Liz (coworkas) doing this:

Yes, its slightly frightening to envision but I can promise you that it was mostly just hilarious.  I mean... I did take it pretty seriously, though. ;)

You can control how much you get out of the workout, the more you shake your bon bon and the faster the more you'll have a sore toosh on your morning commute, haha.

I definitely broke a sweat and laughed a lot, mostly at my non coordinated self. But ohhh the salsa'ing', I was in my glory.  And clearly I would find it appropriate to fist pump in Zumba class, don't judge.

Now for Sarah this class was serious dancing in the mirror time and she took a slower and sexier approach to the workout, dork. :P jk girl, we know how you do.

Fortunately for Liz, this is her gym so she gets to go back for more bon bon shaking. It's offered at my gym... I'm not totally dismissing the idea of round two.  We shall see!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY G! LOVE YOU! XOXOXOXO

bride to be got down

I blogged about the sweetest bridal shower in the wedding blog but the bachelorette post seemed more fitting for o-m-g by far.

Not until we got off 93 at South Station did I realize we were going to District. District is a lounge/club and is all the rage these days. Nice choice, Steph! Once again - amazing MOH.

My girls had the perfect amount of bachelorette flair for me to wear. Something but not everything in the book :) A sash that said "Bride to be", a pin saying "bride" and a tiara/veil that I wore on and off throughout the night.

Anyway... we had a bottle of Grey Goose at our table plus a complimentary bottle of bub. Then a couple free rounds of shots and I was on my merry way to literally dancing the night away.

The pictures from this night are too humiliating not to share. No one can say we weren't having fun! A "SoVIP" photographer snapped some 'candids' for sure. O-M-G....

Last men standing at last call for a JDB remix of Pokerface at 1:55am were myself, Steph, Deanna and Sarah Root. Perfect night. Best bachelorette party ever! You only get one and this one was epic!

Thanks to all my girls that made the night as fabulous as it was. And thanks for letting me think I could really salsa dance... in the spotlight. HAHA! Xxx
