hey there, remember me?

I actually have gone a little crazy.  My life is a whirlwind trying to get ready to move.

The race. First of all THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES OVER for all of your generous donations to The BCRF - it was such an inspiration and truly touching.  In the end I raised a whopping $1600 in one month for the cause.  Awesome awesome awesome.

The race was difficult for me this year, more so than last year mostly due to the heat and humidity.  I had to take it a little slower but I only finished 3.5 mins slower than last year - not awful.  Of course you know this is a disappointment to me and I'm still not over it, haha.  I'm in better physical condition this year but for a multitude of reasons I couldn't quite pick up the pace. Grrrrr.

Anyway it's done.  Next big race on the agenda is the Copenhagen Half Marathon on Sept 12th with the hubby.  Yep, that is our 1 year anniversary date.  We'll be running 13.1 miles and then going home to eat frozen wedding cake!  (He hates me)

Moving. Well it's all coming along, and SWIFTLY at that.  I am realizing that even what I consider not to be a lot of "stuff" - it's A LOT OF STUFF. Holy Cow!  Let's all join my campaign to Christian that he needs to buy me all new clothes over there instead.  :P

Job. It's a WIP.  I have some contract work with my current company/role to keep me busy for a month or so and a couple things in motion for a full time placement with Experian EMEA so fingers crossed these "approvals" happen and I'll be fully and gainfully employed by end of June.

Celebrating. I LOVE MY LIFE.  I have the best friends and family a girl could ever ask for.  Not a dull moment around here these days.  I need to work out extra hard just to minify damage to my body from alcohol and dinners out.  Wouldn't swap it for the world, though.

This weekend. GET READY FOR THE GAGA BAR CRAWL aka THE JMAs (Jill's Moving Awards).  Gail has done a fantastic job planning and gathering all my loved ones for this fantastic event.  I have super amazing friends flying in from all over the country.  This is going to be epic.  How are you going to get your JMA?

Christian.  Firstly, I love him.  He gets in TOMORROW.  He has to help me with all my "stuff" as mentioned previously.  But can't wait to plant some big kisses on his face, I've missed him so much!

That is the update - as you can tell I have a bit of excitement running through my veins.

Countdown:

1 Day til Chr gets here
3 Days til the best going away party ever
7 Days left of work at QAS Boston
7 Days til we go home to see the fam
11 Days til we SHIP OUT!

lady gaga is a goddess

It doesn’t take a loyal reader of my blog to know how much I am obsessed with Lady Gaga.  She is one hot ticket these days.  Even my grandfather has taken interest in her after she made an article debut on The WSJ

Gaga continues to inspire me with her individuality, electro beats, kick-butt lyrics, pure talent and her ‘I don’t care what you think’ mentality.  To add to the list, I idolize her as a business genius as well.

Queen Gaga is on the cover of AdAge this month with a fantastic article to boot.  As a marketing professional, I cannot deny how, even as a music artist, she proved the power of social media as a marketing channel.    She has the whole world abuzz, talking Gaga, listening to Gaga, following Gaga, etc.  And what is she talking about?  Well, whatever it is, the point is that the world is listening.  What brand wouldn’t want in on that?!

Did you know that Lady Gaga is now a Creative Director for the Polaroid brand?  Hell yes, that is awesome.

Is there anything that Lady Gaga can’t do?  She is a goddess.  Lady Gaga & Jillian Als – web marketing extraordinaires! We are quite the duo. :P

ga-ga Oh-la-la

As you already know I am ridiculously overdue on my Lady Gaga post. I did write a fab post then in true Chrome fashion I got an 'Aw Snap' aka Internet Explorer Cannot Display this Page bullcrap. Didn't have it in me to repost until now. So frustrating.

But Gaga... amazing! She is such an amazing performer. Over the top fantastic. She is worth every penny of a sold out Wang Center. A different outfit and routine for every song with no lip syncing. The real deal.

She opened with new song “Dance in the Dark” (omg love this song) and then moved into Just Dance (my anthem), and I was ‘so happy I could die’. ;)

She played all of my favorites:

  • Dance in the Dark
  • Just Dance

[Order gets blurry here]

  • Monster
  • Alejandro
  • Fashion
  • The Fame
  • Love Game
  • Speechless (on Piano)
  • Money Honey
  • Beautiful Dirty Rich
  • Poker Face
  • Paparazzi

[Encore]

  • Eh, eh
  • Bad Romance

We took some ridiculous pictures I am reluctantly showing to you all, haha.  At one point at the restaurant before we went to the show a girl came up and took my picture to send to her husband?? It’s fine.  Papa-Papa-Paparazzi.

Hands down so amazing. After the show I was ready to kill someone for water.  I finally get to the register at Walgreens with water and Gatorade in hand and went to say thank you and nothing came out, no more voice.  The next day I had this raspy scratchy voice and my vocal chords were definitely mad at me J  All totally worth it.

Here’s video from my camera’s recording of the beginning of her Poker Face performance… Lady Gaga fist pumps. I’m in love.

<3 Lady Gaga and all her and my little monsters!

so happy I could die...

Tonight is the night!  Lady Gaga concert with little monsters Gail & Sarah among others. OW OWWW!  He's my look for tonight:

I'm sitting here at work wondering if anyone would notice if I drew my lightning bolt on my face a little prematurely.  It is, after all, the 2nd best day of December. :D

To all other little monsters... you'll be in my heart as I'm dancing my Gaga off.  I will try to give you some shot outs during my routine on stage but... Lady G and I have a Bad Romance so she might get a little jealous. :P

the fame monster

My little monsters as Lady Gaga would say... it's official, The Fame Monster has been released as of yesterday. I am so excited, I almost peed my pants downloading it off iTunes!

I am listening to the hot new tracks on my way into work and all I have to say is that I'm in love. Remember Madonna in the 80's... you know all those hits that made it onto The Immaculate Collection? Well Lady Gaga is our very own Madonna of the late 00's and a lot of people don't understand her, sound familiar?

One comment I often get from people is, "did you see Lady Gaga on xyz last night? She was so ridiculous." To that I usually say, "I am sure she was." Seriously? gfy. At least she's not stomping around proclaiming she's a virgin and trying to be a teen mentor. Lady Gaga never said she was PG13.

Albeit off-the-wall, Lady Gaga has original style. She is true to herself, her fashion, her amazing music, and she doesn't really care what you think about it. :P I love her!

Anyway, most of my readers are Gaga supporters so my rant is over. Exactly one week from today I will be sparkling and singing along to every song at the Wang. Gaga is going to pull me up on stage, be prepared for the photos in the Globe on the 2nd. What.

Favorite songs on the new release:

  • Telephone
  • So Happy I Could Die
  • Alejandro
  • Monster
  • Dance in the Dark

All of them really.... I want to walk straight past 125 Summer St and open up District on Lincoln St for a morning Gaga dance party. Who's with me?

...I'm so happy I could die.
